Color in my world ( part 1)

1–2 minutes

There is color in my world. Everything is so bright, almost too bright, like beauty too overwhelming to bear. The greens and oranges melt into one another, a masterpiece of hues. The purples and pinks of the flowers by the toy shop send a shiver through me, their vibrancy almost electric. They stand with a quiet regality, commanding awe.

My world used to be black and white. Everything around me felt dead. I felt dead. Colors existed, I suppose, but they never reached me. The sky could’ve been blue, the flowers pink, the grass green but in my eyes, it was all just different shades of nothing. I moved through life like a ghost, detached, numb, watching the world happen but never really living in it. I tried so hard to love everything around me but just couldn’t. Until one day, she told me to allow myself to just feel.
